WHAT WE DO

At Black Media, our vision is simple: to create enduring, memorable experiences and content.

We do this through experiential event delivery and content creation, which we’ve been mastering for nearly two decades. Operating as specialists in the field, our footprint extends to no fewer than 10 African countries in the last two years, with active engagements in six of them. We’ve achieved successful show and production executions in the USA, France, and the UK within the past year. Our expansive network of partners and fixers allows us to deliver high-end productions, even in the most challenging environments. This makes us a preferred event production partner to brands across Africa and around the world.

HOW WE STARTED

Black Media was born from a growing need to connect creative, video, CI, technical production and experiences. When we began in 2006, the flow of production was very much in silos and our founder, Andrew Black, set out to connect the dots of production flow and delivery.

OUR FOUNDER

Meet Andrew Black.

Andrew Black has always been at the forefront of technology in the activation and experiential space. From being the first to bring wide screen and out-of-format video to conferences, to creating the biggest video mapping event on the African continent. He started his career in 1992 in the event technical space and delivered some of the biggest shows on the African continent. Six years later, he moved into video production to create content that was appealing on screen and connected to the audiences. In 2001 he had moved into the OB space, creating integrative content and technology in the film industry. By 2004, with a reputation for integrating video and technology for client activations, he had launched a full production company.

A couple of years later, Andrew founded Black Media to facilitate the delivery of these services - which are still done with the same degree of excellence today, 18 years later.
